«Great movie with a good storyline, though at one point I was losing interest because the plot felt like it was dragging. Once it reached the tournament phase [spoiler] and Kano was revived, it was like a switch flipped. It made the movie great, funny, and an amazing experience. I believe if Kano and Johnny Cage weren’t in the movie, it would have flopped. There were many fight scenes, but I think they felt rushed or edited to be too short. Despite that feedback, it brought back tons of memories of when I was a kid experiencing Mortal Kombat on the Sega and Super Nintendo.»

«The first movie was a good introduction and it just was an introduction for this movie. You can put the two films together and it would be one long epic Mortal Kombat movie. I saw it in 4DX so every time blood came out of someone, it sprayed water on us. It gave the experience and the movie an extra touch. I definitely recommend it to every Mortal Kombat fan and every gamer who played fighting games. To others, I would say: If you love some one-vs-one fighting or some good action movie, give it a chance. For the future of Mortal Kombat, I hope they expand the lore. Stick to game lore or even some fan stories. Cage was an absolute joy to see in this movie. The actor did a great job. Kitana was the star of the movie together with Cage and you felt a real connection with her. The story focuses on her and her past. I hope we get to see more of some of the characters and their pasts. A thousand characters is a lot to write!!!»

«Much better than the first one! The special effects are improved, as is the costuming. Characters that were not embraced in the first one are done away with quickly (iykyk). This film actually shows the tournament and features beautiful recreations of stages from the game. Karl Urban is a welcome addition as Johnny Cage and adds levity along with the returning Kano. However, my standouts were Shao Kahn and Kitana. Shao Kahn actually had personality and was not reduced to big, strong, scary guy. I would say Kitana had the best character arc though and it was great to see her actually use her fans. I feel that after the first one, they really listened to fans and did a major course correction. If you’re a fan of the games, you’ll love it. If you disliked the first movie, please give this one a chance to win you back. Looking forward to MK3!»
